Brooks J. Grainger
EDUCATION
I grew up in South Bend, Indiana, graduating from Marian High School in 1988.
My education continued at Valparaiso University, where I was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance in 1992.
I graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1996. During my third year I served on the steering committee. Also while in law school, I participated in the Federalist Society, arranging discussions and debates on campus covering a wide variety of “hot topics” of the day.
Since graduating from law school, I maintain my education through attendance at numerous continuing legal education seminars on a wide variety of subjects. I continue to average several days each month in continuing legal education as well as lecturing at various continuing education seminars.
LEGAL EXPERIENCE
I was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Indiana in 1996. Also in 1996, I was sworn as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in St. Joseph County, Indiana, a position I held for two years. As of January 1, 1999, when my tenure as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney ended, I had prosecuted well over one hundred misdemeanor cases, as well as several felony jury trials.
In January of 1999, I started my own practice in the South Bend legal community, focusing on criminal defense and family law. On April 1, 1999, I began work as an associate with Krisor & Associates. Our firm’s focus is the general practice of law with an emphasis on family and creditor’s rights. Our law firm consists of three attorneys and a support staff of over twenty-five dedicated individuals.
PERSONAL INFORMATION
When I am not at work, I enjoy horseback riding, sports and reading, as well as traveling when I can find the time.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS
I am admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Indiana and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. I am a member of the Indiana State Bar Association as well as the St. Joseph County Bar Association.
